Our transatlantic friends: "What a lovely place and atmosphere for our first week in France. For a few years we have been aniticipating spending our 25th wedding anniversary here. We have not been disappointed. Your tasteful decor and grounds, excellent welcome pack, advice on venues and drives have been just right. We especially enjoyed the Auberge de Bougnard with Joel. This area of France is so quiet, friendly and relaxing with as much or as little to do as one wishes. We trust your business will continue to be successful. It has been an enjoyable, relaxing and memorable stay...your Gite l'Ecurie and the facilities of the pool, garden and games combined with the tranquil setting are a credit to you both. The welcome pack and bottle of wine settled us in nicely and the pack proved an invaluable guide to local sights and things to do. You have certainly set a hig standard for the next five weeks of our trip. The wonderful sunny weather from 28-30 degrees was most welcome. The Returning guests: "A fantastic week in La Chataigne - it just hasn't been long enough! The property is lovely, in breathtaking surroundings, there's far too much to see and do for one week - what more can I say?!?" What can we say – that we haven’t said before!?! Another fantastic fortnight at Le Mournet just what we needed to relax, unwind and catch up with ourselves. Bringing Callum (aged 4 1/2 months) here for his first trip to France has set him high standards for all future trips! Thank you so much for everything you do to make our holidays perfect and for babysitting this time too! We won’t state the obvious (that we will return) but just look forward to seeing you again and to Callum vistinghere when he is able to make full use of the pool and everything in the area.

Fields caressed with daffodils and cowslips, the sunset returning from Gluiras, the wild boar roaming in front of us through the pine forests ....a big thank you to Charlotte and Christian for giving us a fantastic week – one of the best we have ever had in France. Two Couples spending time together: "We really enjoyed our holiday - beautiful, spectacular scenery and peace & quiet away from the tourists!! Highlights - deep clear rock pool near Burzet, meals at L'Auberge de Bougnard, Le Relais de Sully and Le Truffolier - when we weren't cooking on the great barbecue! Wonderful walks - limited only by the heat - and a great concert in the village - young people's Baroque ensemble - and canoeing at Les Ollières and visits to Aubenas, Le Puy and other smaller villages. Local bakery excellent for bread and variety of goods. Gite beautifully decorated and well equipped. Pool lovely ( and a great asset in the heat!!) Thank you Charlotte and Christian for being so kind."

The weather has been great and the pool a real bonus - I don't think we realised before how much we would use it! We have enjoyed long walks in the hills as well as to the local shop. We had a great day out at the Indian Forest and enjoyed a trip on the Vivarais Steam Railway - a great day out if you like trains and a good way to see some spectacular scenery."

Friends Reuniting: The End of the Three Week Aussie Tour of Albon......We have had a wonderful time at Le Mournet. What a fantastic base camp for our Coup du Monde Tour of France. Thank you Charlotte, Christian and Melodie ......for...acting as interpreter, continuously booking restaurants, great massages, excellent local advice, tolerating the en-mass crazy Australian holiday behaviour (indulging the Tarzan call of the wild at night), freindly service and a great location. We won’t forget the crazy tight roads and subsequent rally driving over the Alps “stay right” our mantra! Thank you!

The Couple’s View from La Chataigne: "Had a lovely two weeks at Le Mournet. Very relaxing indeed. Lots of peaceful walks in the hills with an abundance of flora and fauna. This is a really unspoilt part of France and the locals we met were extremely friendly…….. The house is really well appointed and spotlessly clean. Charlotte and Christian were perfect hosts and have created a superb retreat from the increasingly busy UK."

Family View: We came here on a last minute rushed internet booking to a part of France we have never heard of before. We brought with us 2 stressed adults, 1 three year old and 1 seven month old baby! We leave sadly to return to return to our lives in Ireland al the calmer, stronger and more peaceful than we have been for some time. Thank you! 3 pointers....1, Your beautiful home & gites are exactly as described on the internet – beautiful, welcoming, clean and equipped with evrything to make us feel at home and with a baby too!. 2. Your descriptions & recommendations in the Welcome Pack are very honest and real. 3. Your peaceful & calm attributes & surroundings work wonders on even the most stressed our guests!

The Couple’s View from La Chataigne: "What a fabulous week we have had in the Ardeche. La Chataigne was a superb base - all the facilities you need - the welcome basket was a great start, the relaxed environment with swimming pool, the local shop & tabac, playing boules with the locals - all wonderful. We had fantastic days out - canoeing the 27km through the gorges, climbing Mont Mezenc & sitting in the square in Antraigues drinking wine watching boules - perfect. Eating out was an enjoyable experience - The Auberge de Bougnard, Albon and The Remise, Antraigues our favourites. Thank you Charlotte & Christian for this wonderful place to spend a great break."

Those who love walking: Wev’e had a brilliant two weeks in this stunning area enjoying the walks, the wildlife and local restaurants (especially Le Moulin). The farmhouse is a splendid place to stay wiith beautiful, peaceful surroundings and it is also well placed for further explorations. Mont Gerbier and Ray Pic very memorable. We will be back!
